Everything was just as it was the day before: the nursery, the bathroom, the living room, even the sleeping bag I'd brought and put on the bed. Yesterday, when I had moved from Miss E's two-story apartment to her friend's flat, the moment I unlocked the door two cats dashed out, and the foyer looked just like it had been broken into, things scattered about. It seemed for a second like it might have been the doing of a young and a little sketchy landlord, but I thought that was just Berlin.
